Arsenal win Community Shield, second trophy in 6 days
Arsenal Fans in ecstasy after winning the Community Shield
Arsenal came from one goal down to snatch the season-opening Community Shield from London rivals, Chelsea, in a penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium.
Nigerian international Victor Moses had opened scoring for Chelsea, a minute into the second half, after the first half had ended goalless.
But Arsenal equalised in the 81st minute, via a header by Sead Kolasinac, Arsenal’s Bosnian left back. A minute earlier, Chlesea forward Pedro Rodriguez had bagged a red after a foul on Mohamed Elneny.
There were no other goals, even after five minutes was added to playing time.

Chelsea were miserable in the penalty shootout, after Gary Cahill had scored the first one.
Keeper Thibaut Courtois and striker Alvaro Morata, a new signing from Real Madrid all missed the goal.
For Arsenal however, the quartet of Theo Walcott, Nacho Monreal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all scored their shots. Striker Olivier Giroud made no mistake in making the tally 4-1, and making the Community come back to Arsenal.
For Arsenal, it was the second trophy of the season, having won the Emirates Cup on 31 July.
According to the statistics of the match, Arsenal beat Chelsea in possession, 55-45 and had 10 shots on target, to Chelsea’s six. Arsenal also recorde six shots off target, to Chelsea’s one. Proof that Arsene Wenger boys deserved the victory even manifested in the goal kicks that Chelsea played, 14 to Arsenal’s three
